Swim lessons, at least

It’s day three of vacation for me, out of nine days total (counting the weekends.) Today we were caught in crosswinds, but due to flexibility, we survived without any yelling or bad feelings. Here’s the short skinny scoop:

  • Take Bethy to Day Camp; realize there’s no way I’m getting out of there without her breaking down into a bawling mess.
  • Leave Day Camp with Bethy.
  • Go to Menard’s to get stuff for finishing the garage, washer plumbing, Bethy bulletin board.
  • Arrive home to discuss with Leigh how we can approach this situation with Bethy.
  • Assign Bethy the “homework” of thinking about what specific issues made her nervous enough to abandon day camp that she had been looking forward to.
  • Take Gwen to swimming lessons.
  • Explain to Gwen that from now on, no more poop jokes at swimming lessons.
  • Take Gwen to Border’s despite my predisposition to go to Pekara Bakery instead, since that is what she really wanted to do.
  • Purchase goggles for Gwen.
  • Go home, eat, feed kids.
  • Fast forward — Leigh goes to evening get-together for Kim’s birthday
  • Referee children in small backyard swimming pool.
  • Bottle feed Xander
  • Cook frozen pizza and french fries (lopsided meal)
  • Trick Xander and Willow into going to sleep
  • Discuss playing Scene-It with kids

The evening isn’t over… heck the night is still young… so I may edit that list! Woah, excitement!

The weird thing is… not having any pictures to post… because I still haven’t recharged the camera batteries. Sorry man.

Ok… I don’t see anything like rest, relaxation - VACATION on this list!!!

Go to Pekara and get some pasteries and then have a coffee on me!
